Born in Norfolk, England, Gary grew up on a farm, and has always been at one with nature.
He moved to Ireland in 1998, and in 1999 he settled in enchanting West Cork - where he gains inspiration for his artistic endeavours.

He’s a regular trader at the Saturday Market in Skibbereen where he shows his work, and customers are always welcome to visit his studio near Leap (by arrangement). This website shows a selection of Gary’s work - please feel free to visit the studio to see more creations!

Bog Wood Sculptures
Mother nature has created these natural forms, and has suspended them in time for
c. 5000 years in the peat bogs of beautiful West Cork.

Producing a bog wood sculpture is a long and dirty process, from the initial exciting discovery, to cleaning, seasoning and sanding to get the bog wood ready for oiling, waxing and mounting. This process tests the patience - but the result justifies the journey.
Many of my bog wood pieces are married with local West Cork rocks or stones, adding to these already unique natural sculptures.
These stunning works bring any space to life, and they are a reassuring reminder that nature, in all her glory, is always dependable.

These hand-carved Wands come in a range of sizes and different local timber. Some are made completely from wood - others have gemstones or crystal points attached.
They make an unusual gift from enchanted West Cork, and can also be used for spiritual purposes and to ‘Spread a little magic’.
